Juggling Climbers
We’ve been taken over by climbers! Around 1000 climbers have signed up to climb Denali this year, we will host about 90 here at the Inn from May to mid July. Grains of History
The interior of Fireweed Station is finished with Douglas Fir. You probably can’t find boards of that quality anymore, so we saved what we didn’t use during the restoration. When the Kirsch family built this place in 1946 they brought in all the lumber by the Alaska Railroad to the Sunshine Siding. Well, this mess is probably my karma for praising my other neighbors last week!
Not only do we get to hear the high-pitch scream of our weekend neighbor’s snowmachines all day Saturday, we get to pick up their debris and try to groom the ski trails back into some kind of passable condition.
