The Nashes leave Sunshine…
We finally tried to count how long the Nashes had stood abandoned here, maybe 9 or 10 years? - Time to send them on to a better home in the country.
It all statrted with the Spurlin family that lived here in the ‘60’s. They left several cars in the woods around the place, one of which was a 50’s blue Nash Rambler that Airon took a fancy to. Seeing that we liked the Rambler caused the off-handed comment from Nancy Spurlin that we should contact her friend Fred who happened to have 5 of them in Anchorage. One Nash was in good shape, having been partly restored, but to get that one meant taking the rest as “parts cars”. So no sooner had we got rid of the 7 other Spurlin rust buckets then here comes 4 1/2 new ones! Tom & Airon had good intentions I’m sure, but we’re all older & wiser these days and someone else bit on the same deal Fred gave us. So we’re three down and two to go - just hope they stay together long enough to load them on someone else’s trailer…
