Wild Things
Seems like it’s a bumper year for the berries - Redcurrants usually hide deep in the woods, but this week they’re glowing brightly every where you look. I’m also finding new Blueberry patches in places I’m sure I’ve looked before… I’m one of those people that can pick for hours - I keep telling myself “just one more handfull” but then I hear another bush calling me over and I have to go on. I’ve got some great recipes for Redcurrant tarts & cakes, tomorrow our guests will be treated to blueberry scones with lemon curd. I’ve definitely picked enough to freeze so we can enjoy the taste of Summer in mid January. I know there’s more out there waiting to turn my fingers blue, hopefully I’ll soon find an hour or two between guests and rain showers.
