We’ve been lucky enough to have birds on our doorstep this winter; might have something to do with roadkill moose bones in the yard. Airon has a feeder full of sunflower seeds that the little birds love, he sees chickadees, redpolls and grossbeaks regularly. We get Magpie and Raven scavengers with uncanny instincts to fly off whenever the camera is raised - I can’t take credit for this raven photo. The ravens will engage us in deep conversations from up in the cottonwood trees but they’re camera shy.
A rare bird has taken over last spring’s robin nest on the shed. This stranger doesn’t have much to say, I think he just keeps a sharp eye out for the neighbor’s dog.
