Fireweed Station Inn

Amanita muscaria - the quintessential toadstool.

These gilled fungi are popping up all over the lawns here at Fireweed Station.

Try to resist licking these mushrooms; they’re known to be poisonous and certainly look like they have some stories to tell!  Our old dog “Lilly” once ate some dried amanitas that the squirrels were hoarding - she was definitely seeing some fairies and gnomes that day - drooling and barking madly until she fell into a deep sleep for 8 hours.  She died two years later, probably unrelated to her mushroom trip…
