It’s been a glorious Fall here in Sunshine - golden leaves, sunny days, crisp frosty mornings… I picked a ton of High Bush Cranberries out in the woods around our place, I try not to pick near our trails so that we can grab frozen berries when we’re skiing. Back home for a big jam session, it’s so easy in Fireweed Station’s commercial kitchen. A few strawberries in the mix tones down the musky cranberries into a tasty jam and sweetens without too much sugar. It’s a good thing we didn’t have any guests that day; Tom says the cooking berries smell like stinky feet!
We seem to have come to the end of our busy guest season here at the Inn. We have hosted some fantastic guests this year; people from all over the world, climbers, musicians, writers, travelers, friends… It’s always interesting to hear other people’s stories and learn where they’ve come from. Hopefully we’ll have more guests this winter to eat all that jam…
